What is a Socialist. The Communists considered themselves socialist and so did the Social Democrats but Hitler eliminated both of them .
His main support financially came from wealthy industrialists and they were certainly not socialists.
The socialist element in his government was the directing public money into major capital projects but it was really government by a small elite. The mass of the people were fooled by clever propaganda

Hitler's party was the socialist party which was the dominant party ,much like the socialists are the dominant party in the E.U. today. Hitler's vision was a European socialist nation spreading from the Iberian Penninsula to Scandinavia, all under one flag, with one currency with Germany as the most powerful factor. It seems our Adolph has achieved his ambition without firing a shot. All hail the E.U. I hope they don't find out who sent this answer or there could be someone knocking on my door in the wee small hours

They claimed to be socialists, but there's not much we would recognise as socialism now. One relic of the socialism element is the volkswagen or "people's car" The idea was to mass produce a reliable, affordable vehicle which everybody could drive.

They were not socialists in the Marxist/Leninist sense of socialism and communism. More national socialism, or nationalism than anything collective. The Nazi party was fiercely anti-communist.
