I think that you should do it even if it won't sell because it will help you deal with those problems. Then get in a writer's group and they can help you polish it for sale.

Although you do have a potential story, you should try to get some help on this because you might need help putting this story into a format where people will understand this because many people who want to express themselves through a book see it as a way to "let it all out" and forget to put in a lot of important parts that will make a difference between it being somewhat of a diary or an actual book. Also, because you are still young, it will be good to have older people help you ( I am not old, so sorry but I can't help you much). You might also want to wait until your a little older if you are very young because from here to three years, you might have had a life changing event or something because you are still blossoming and need some time to reflect on what has happened. You not only need knowledge in what events happened, but wisdom in how you can use this book to help others like yourself come to peace. Your book can help SO many teens and young people, but you can't do it alone and you can't finish it in a day, a week, a month, or even a year. Best of luck, and please don't give up.

If you are a young teen, the best thing to do now is just to start writing. Write out your memories and emotions, and what you have learned so far. If nothing else, that would be a form of therapy for you.

Keep your notes and add on, as time passes. You should take writing classes at school. Put a sample chapter together and have a writing teacher critique it. If you are a typical writer, you will be in desperate need of editing.

To sell a book, you usually need an agent. Maybe a teacher in high school or a community college could give you some help with finding one. Lots of "teen experience" books do sell, and there is a definite interest in that genre, so don't assume that you couldn't get an agent; however, you need to find one that specializes in your sort of book, and that will take some research.

I like your title, and the fact that you want to do something constructive with the painful experiences you have been through. Don't worry if nobody else thinks your writing is a good idea, just keep doing it. As I said, working on your story will help you organize your thoughts and get your experiences in perspective.

It's always a good thing to write a book; especially if you have the experience to back up what you are writing about. You never know with writing a book you could help someone who is in the same or a similiar situation.

Good luck

Write your biography, starting from the day and place of birth. Include the joys and the heartaches shared. Divide your biography in sections--perhaps in years or in topic subjects.

Each chapter or section you write becomes fodder for fiction short stories and novels. As your writing expertise builds because of research, grammar and spelling corrections, and techniques in the craft, your autobiography will not only be a historic piece, but one your heirs or family could enjoy reading.

When not engrossed in the biography, continue a daily journal of events in your life. Such recordings can also add to your biography.

Get started on it now.

I think that you can bring a unique perspective to such a story, but it should be handled carefully. Talk to as many people as you can that have similar experiences, as well as counselors, police officers, etc. They will have a wealth of information on how your characters might deal with the situation. You might find that this helps with your own healing process...

Best of Luck

I think that there needs to be more books for teens about these kinds of things. You obviously have a passion, and I say go for it!

Hmm... If you're writing about yourself because of those reasons, than I can write a freakin' novel... I've been through that and way worse with heavy drug use, violence, and a recent death.

But, I'm lazy, I'm sure you have potential... Go for it.
