Don't worry my daughter is 9 weeks old and she started cooing at 8 weeks. Every baby develop at their own pace. I am sure your daughter is fine but if really want assurance you can call your doctor. Congrats on your lil one!!

Does she make any sounds at all? If not you might check with her doctor, but if she does and she passed her hearing exam I wouldn't worry too much about it. But I would ask about it at the next visit. Some people are just more "talkative" than others and that can start early. As long as you know she can make sounds, I wouldn't worry that she doesn't do it.

I would definately NOT stress over this. All babies have their strengths and weaknesses. Some are very vocal and some quiet observers. If her hearing is good then she is golden. Before you know she'll be cooing away!

I talk to my daughter all the time when she is awake, talk, talk, sing, sing, make funny faces she will coo girl. I even talk to her when I change her diaper. I say stinky boo boo. To let her know that I'm changing her diaper to make her feel better. She is happy when I change her diaper and she lets me know when she poops.
