they thrive on doom and gloom. i am appalled at how many would have thrown in the towel by now and given the terrorist free reign. they can't afford success as it will negate their message that America is all messed up and lost. yet, as you say millions risk all to come here daily because they know it is far better than another other place despite our few problems.

God can heal everybody of a few thing which include an amputee's limb. yet those Judas Preachers are pretenders to attain more suitable congregations skill and funds. and they don't have any skill to heal everybody of a few thing. they could fool countless the human beings countless the time. yet they could't make limbs to strengthen in the previous the cameras. they could in simple terms pretend to heal ailments that can not be shown genuine or pretend. bottom li ne is: They lie for the almighty dollar.

Obviously, some people still see this as the "Land of Opportunity." In maintaining this vision, does it not seem ironic that appreciation for the "American Dream" may be strongest among non-Americans?
Also, your question points out one of the many inconsistencies of New Age Liberalism....While fervently secular in nature, their "all is lost" viewpoint (as you put it) seems to stem directly from the Christian tradition of devout humility....as if anything resembling national Pride would be a sin against their orthodox "humanist" agenda.
Just as there are sanctimonious Christians who compete to see who is the most devout, how many posters on this board seem to be in competition to point out the flaws of their own country?
Is it really self-loathing? Or is it perhaps just another volley in the tiresome "look how smart I am" game?

Progressives don't say all is lost, that's a figment of your and the the talking heads you listen to imaginations, by the very word progressive we believe the country can and should do better, we don't run around mindlessly attacking the oppositions patriotism, we do recognize that our nations has many large issues that need to be addressed and we don't put our head in the sand and act like everything is perfect like the many of our fellow Americans do, we're willing to do the hard work the nation needs and not run around spouting mindless slogans and worrying about flags on lapels and magnets on cars, there are far bigger issues than that trivial garbage

Thank GOD you guys are finally coming around to Bush Illegal Amnesty. You guys were looking like traitors to our President Bush for quite a while there. I too would support our President Bush to have executive gun control to stop the domestic liberal terrorists.

Liberals want all to be lost.
Liberals thrive in economic collapse, political unrest and social upheaval, and if there isn't any, they have to create it.
(Democrats today are America's leftist gorillas, and they are the best argument for gun control. Do you really want these yoyo's to have the right to bear arms?)
