isn't it like baseball?

Game of cricket is played by 11 players on either side. The sphere shaped hard object called ball and a wooden plank of about 4inches in width and 2.5 feet in height with a handle to hold it called bat is used. Three sticks of about 2.5 feet each is placed on either side separated by 22 yards, which is called the pitch. The toss of a coin decided the team which has the option to either field/bowl or Bat.

The team electing to field sets the team members around the ground in positions where the ball is likely to be hit to prevent runs being scored or to get a batsmen out. One member of the fielding team is given the ball to bowl at the stumps at the opposite end. The team batting send in 2 batsmen who stand on either side of the stumps. The objective of the batsmen is to hit the ball when it is bowled at him by the fielding team player. The batsmen will have to score runs by the batsmen crossing over to the other side of each ones position. This is called a run. The batsmen will have to decide the number of times to crossover depending on the distance the ball has travelled in the ground and the position of the fielder to the ball. The ground has a boundary set. The ball hit by the batsmen if it cross the line after ptiching inside then 4 runs are declared as run, while the ball crosses over the line without pitching inside, then hit is declared to have made 6 runs. The bowler if he strikes the stumps, the batsmen is trying to defend, then the batsmen is declared bowled out. If the ball hits the leg of the batsmen trying to defend the ball, and if the ball seem to travel towards the stumps, then the batsman is declared LBW (leg Before wicket) by one of the 2 adjudicators (Umpire) on the field. A batsmen could also be out if while trying to cross over to the other side of the stumps, while attempting a run, the stump is hit by the ball by the fielding team before the batsmen reaches a reaching point called crease.

When 10 players of the batting team are out, or the Captain feels that the team has enough runs in their kitty, then the bowling team will be asked to bat and the team which batted earlier will have to field.

The team which scores more runs wins.

There are several variants in cricket which is played either on 5 days, or played in a day with each side playing 50 overs each, or 20 overs. An over is where the bowlers delvers 6 balls to the opposing teams batsmen at a stretch.

Its like baseball in that one person throws a ball and another tries to hit the ball with a bat.
Cricket lasts longer than baseball (a full length test match is over 5 days).
Cricket is played mostly in countries that were British colonies (Australia, India, Pakistan, New Zealand, England, West Indies, South Africa are some of the countries). Although other countries are playing cricket now.
In cricket teams can score 400 to 500 runs and there are draws in cricket (usually when playing time runs out due to rain). Cricket players don't play while it is raining.
There is a world cup for cricket in a one day format. Each team only has one innings.
