The white South Africans (Afrikaners) make on average 6 times the salary of an average black S.African.
Most whites in South Africa have plenty of privilidge because of decades of apartheid, so the majority of white south africans can aford almost any school they want to.

I seriously doubt it, if you look at the actions of Oprah giving to others who are all different colours but then again ones beliefs can be kept personal and since I am not Oprah I cannot say for sure. I think her desire to help African children is more out of her cultural roots than anything else. Some people who went through a lot of discrimination because of their race feel strongly about helping their people to overcome such obstacles as they can stand in the way of happiness, education, life, etc. Oprah has been discriminated against many times in her life. On her road trip with her best friend gale (taped for the Oprah show) a police officer tells her to get the -------- of his highway , etc. His remarks were made towards the col or of her skin and her race, another was in a store they refused to serve her because she was black as quoted by a staff of that store. I think because she is a public figure she is more scrutinized for her desire to help African children. If it was you or I who decided to use some of our money to help others from our own race would we be considered to be prejudice. I think because she is a public figure who is so rich that others view her either as a celebrity or as black person. there doesn't seem to be anyone who don't know her to view her as just a person. I would like to think that somebody with that much money, power and influence isn't racists but then again as I said I do not know her or her personal beliefs.

I don't think she is any more racist than any one else.
Probably the black girls in South Africa are the poor ones and don't have money to go to schools and the white kids get all the priviledges.
It is probably South Africa that is racist, she is just trying to give them an equal chance in life.

Oprah is not a racist........I am sure that you are a white person.......the whites in south africa took all the wealth.....they can send their kids to any school........the blacks have to work hard for little money to help at least one of their children to go to school.............she is right for what she did and how she did it..........the blacks in south africa need all the help that they can get

i dont think white girls in south africa are in need off oprahs money. remember their ancestors and parents loaded up on south africas wealth during apartheid
