is it possible that you had more than one embryo? They may have only caught the one embryo and still left that one.

This is very troublesome. One big question is whether or not the ultra sound tech brought the issue up to the doctor at the abortion clinic. The clinic let a very important medical issue slip through the cracks. Was the M.D. informed that the the ultrasound did not match the dates? If so the doctor should have investigated further. Or did she keep it to herself? Only a lawyer would know if you have a legal case and I'm not sure if you want justice, help with your medical bills, or to prevent someone else from getting hurt? If protecting other women is your priority I would speak to your doctor about taking action. A doctor can report another doctor if they suspect a problem and have them investigated.

I worked at a call center for doctors. Sometimes doctors aren't familiar with every scenario but they can always consult with an expert.

I don't know if this should be handled legally but I would not just "let it go". Women need safe, legal, abortions and you didn't get one.

why didn't you see your doctor in the first place? You should ask your doctor if this is common? Could be that the test they did at the abortion clinic could not differentiate between the two types of pregnancies. Or could be that the technician who did the ultrasound was not experienced in the area of a Molar pregnancy.
If your doctor thinks that 1. Molar pregnancies are common and could/should show up on a basic ultrasound. 2. that the abortion clinic was negligent in any way that could have caused additional pain/injuries or serious health hazards
then yes, contact an attorney.

What the hell? You wanted to kill your unborn child and are now upset because there was no child? Molar pregancys either leave no fetus or a terribly messed up one with too many chromosomes who will die anyhow. SO what is your problem? Maybe you should just figure you have now learned a valuable lesson. Get on some birth control and don't practice unsafe sex until you are mature enough to care for whatever may happen.
*walks away shaking head still confused about why you are upset*

Stephani- I understand the medical side of this perfectly. It's the moral side I was conflicting with. Think before you type or personally bash another responder.
Not bashing her Stephani, standing up for unborn children. Someone needs to.

medical issue - resolve the outstanding medical issues with your doctor so that you don't jeopordize your future health. i had a misacarriage last year, but didn't pass any tissue, so had a d&c. this year i had another miscarriage, passed most of the tissue, but had to have the balance surgically removed. point is - sometimes the initial surgery doesn't resolve issues because some tissue is left behind causing continued symptoms (hormones, bleeding, etc).
legal issue - it's not clear that anything happened/didn't happen, so call an attorney.

in the link you provided:
"this involves a lot of trips to the lab and the doctor’s office! This is important because molar pregnancies can “come back” even after a thorough D&C. "

May want to take your own advice, and quit bashing the poster of the question.
