I know the Japanese have the famed Samurai as their special unique warriors, the Chinese have the Chu Ko Nu I believe as their units (elite crossbowmen). There are Knights, and Phalanxes, however I was always wondering about Indian warriors (no not native americans u fools). I mean ancient indian warriors back then in India. I was wondering about their unique unit name and what weaponry they are most accustommed to using on the battlefield. Ive heard of Rajput warriors...is it true that Rajput warriors were the "samurai" of India? it would be great if someone could give me a list of unique units with each nation or civilization. Im sure most of Europe was familiarized with "knights" at that time. but yeah if I could know more about Ancient Indian Warriors (being an indian) that would be great.

I have read about the Sikhs, and their martial arts. They used some very specific weapons, like the steel ring, the tulwar and tiger-claws. The Sikhs have a warrior code in their culture. The North western frontier tribes also were famed warriors. The British feared and respected the Pathans, the afridi's and the Turkomen.

Rajput warriors were sorta of like the Samurai but they were not aligned with a noble because in this case - they were noble! They were warrior princes who allied their Rajputs (principalities) with the Mughal Empire for the benefits of survival and rich plunder
