the entire cooling system on that car holds just little over 7 quarts,if you count the reservoir bottle it will almost hold two gallons,so the radiator should hold around 4 quarts,just be sure you have it completely full,good luck on it.

#"over 7 quarts" and mechanic for 37 years,# diz why all mechanics who I took my pontiac to, been taking it apart and then could not figure it out how to put it back together

tank doesn't contain 2 gallons at least its top of and its not supposed to be topped of that way you will overfill it


well I am 17years old and I say its about 12.4 quarts to be exact, in 3.1L v6
4 door 1997 pontiac grand am se vin"m"

the manual says a little different but that how much you should put in you car to prevent over heat and over pressure that cause leaks
