Proteins are always assembled FROM amino acids BY Ribosomes BASED ON mRNA thats received from the nucleus.

The genetic information stored in the DNA is past on to the mRNA by translation which in turn is moved to the ribosomes in the cytoplasm... where the mRNA is used as a code by the Ribosomes to assemble the Amino Acids in the proper sequence to form the primary structure of the protein.,
