i know right? but ortiz has been hot too and you know how do you make a decisionlike that? Lets just hope ortiz can play 1st base well! i hate the national league rules!!!!

Yes they are. Ortiz offers a left handed bat that can take advantage of the Colorado air. Youkilis off the bench can be a late inning defensive substitute at first or third base.
Don't be surprised to see Youkilis start at least one of the Colorado games - three days in a row of playing in the field may be too much for Ortiz's torn meniscus to handle.

Would you rather sit him than David Ortiz, and take away the best 3-4 punch in the game? Youkilus has been hot, but he hasn't done much in the way of production. He gets on base quite a bit, but Ortiz and Manny is still more dangerous and leaves less room for error than having to face Youkilus, Ortiz and then Lowell (who's been quite the opposite of Youkilus this postseason). As a Yankee fan, I think it's smart planning by Francona. Either way, benching Youkilus or Ortiz will hurt, but he HAS to bench one.

I don't think they're sitting Youk for the next three games. I think they'll sit Youk tonight, and then Lowell and Papi tomorrow and Monday(if there is a game). That way- they all get one day's rest. Anyway, now they have Youk to hit for Dice-K in the later innings.

I happen to agree with you but the Red Sox are fortunate to have too very good ball players and they really can't go wrong no matter what they choose.
