I don't think it left a stinger, and I don't know what kind of wasp it was. Possibly a yellow jacket. I put some calamine lotion on the bite, and she has an ice pack on her foot. Is there anything else I should be doing? She's never been stung before, by anything. Thanks!

If there is swelling and/or itching you can give her a childrens benedryl. Also you can make a paste of baking soda and water and apply over the sting it will pull a stinger if there is one and relieve it a bit.

Hope she feels better soon!
(u too, I know it hurt worse for Mom!!)

Give Benadryl and monitor for allergic reaction. Double check that it was not actually a bee. If the stinger stays in, more venom will be delivered. I also prefer a topical steroid like hydrocortisone.
