International House is probably the most expensive, but you will get good value for money there. If you plan to use the qualification to work abroad only, then go with them. However, if you would like the option to work in the UK as well, then a college is better. The qualification is called CELTA now and this is the course most employers ask for (or there is a Trinity equivalent) In college CELTA courses nearly all teaching practice is done with ESOL students as opposed to EFL. There is quite a difference-don't let anyone tell you there isn't-so decide what your ultimate aim is.
Regarding the weekend courses-I wouldn't advise these; you need either a four week intensive course (be prepared for total exhaustion) or a 3month/6month course. If I can be of any more help please let me know. I am an ESOL teacher currently studying for a stage 4 teaching qualification, the progression from the CELTA which I gained in 2004. Hope this helps.

I did a TEFL course through i to i in Melbourne, it was over one weekend and did further online training for this to get a 100 hour certificate. I think it really does depend where you are going - if you want to work in Europe or UAE you are going to need to spend $2500 plus, otherwise a shorter course will do. http://australia.i-to-i.com/tefl-courses/tefl-courses-australia.html

Some of them are rubbish The best ones are affiliated to the Royal Society of Arts and take a few weeks attendance at a learning centre.
If you hope to do it as a career you will waste your money on a cheap course. You will be unemployable.
