If your Contract of Employment says you get paid over-time, or your company has a flexi-time system then ....

1) If you are a 'worker' and have been asked to stay late by your Manager, then you should be paid overtime or have time off later under the flexi-time system ..
2) However if you are 'Management' you are normally deemed to have control over how you delegate work and thus have no overtime or flexi-time entitlement.

If over-time is not mentioned in your contract and the company has no flexi-time system then "its up to you" .. a lot of places expect office staff to put in extra hours for no extra pay and, if you expect promotion or bonuses that's what you have to do.

depends on your contract with said company. if you are salary, sorry, pay is pay, hours can be as dictated. if you are hourly, then by law, your hours have to be tracked and over time of some sort needs to be paid. now saying that, Chinese overtime can be included. the more OT hours your work, the less pay for those hours you get.

jobs are not easy to find, ask around. many stay unemployed for up to a year or end up delivering pizzas. don't burn the wagon you ride on unless you really really have to. few hours per week free is better than no paid hours at all.
