Well it depends, if you've already been sentenced and served your time, and don't have an ugly stamp on your passport that says you got deported, then you probably can. Some countries might not let you in though so check with that country first. I've never had a criminal conviction anywhere but I've travelled abroad several times and unless you have something on your passport that indicates you have a criminal past, when you go into the country, they don't ask you that, and they just look at your passport. At least that's how it is for Europe.

It would be wise to 'annonymously' check ahead of time because you don't want to fly somewhere just to get turned back when you get there.
