I am just starting to try to write HTML. What is the difference between a Header and a Title?

How is each intended to be used?

Don't be mean! :-))

I know how to format each of them, but I do not know what they are for.

Thanks for any help with this!

You can say is a super set of .<br /> What ever text you write in <title> tag, It will be visible to user at the top left of the browser. tag can have multiple child tag like - ; ; ; . So it keeps all informations about the page. Where as is used only for giving a valid name to the site.<br /> <br /> You can take a example of a book. If i devide a standark text book as w HTML page, We can say .....<br /> <br /> <HTML> ----- Total book <br /> <HEAD> ----- The cover of the book<br /> <TITLE> ----- The title of the book <br />
----- The author and publisher info

----- The main contents of the book
...........
...........

if you mean the tag, it includes more than just the title. it could include meta tags and various script calls.

if you mean the text headers

etc., these are basically shortcuts to changing text size and might help with SEO (a search engine would pay more attention to the text in the header than standard paragraph text).

The tag is simply what shows up in the title bar of your internet browser and when your page comes up in a search engine. </p> <p> <small> 2007-10-27 04:53:38 · <a href="#answer20071027045338">answer #2</a> · <span>answered by <u>Elly & Pao</u> <b>4</b></span> · <span>1<span style='color:green;'>⤊</span></span> <span>0<span style='color:red;'>⤋</span></span> </small> </p> </div> <div id="answer20071027045540" class='answer' > <!-- <b>Answer #3</b> --> <p class='answer-content' lang="en"> The title tag goes in the >head> section of the html code.
