you personally know or love that were killed on 9-11?? How do you feel about extremist groups who do these kinds of things? Should the US be wary and take precautions against this happening again?

...I didn't know that the US had wronged Saudi Arabia, but our government does whatever they want, we aren't exactly informed about their activities :)

A couple at my parents' church were killed, they were on one of the planes.

The church responded by having an open community memorial service. They called up all the mosques and synagogs in the area and invited people to come. They did, Christians, Jews, and Muslims praying together.

While there have always been some crazy people around doing terrible things, the hate that causes people to join such groups can be greatly diminished. It is in the US's security interests to stop funding bloody dictators (like the Saudi royalty), stop funding injustice (like the Israli occupation and ethnic cleansing of Palestinian lands) and stop making war (like in Iraq, Afghanistan).

If the US would return to its principals of freedom and justice, there will likely be no more attacks. If the US continues to attack others, it should not be surprised when their victims strike back.

Injustices resulting in deaths of their loved ones are what creates "extremist groups". The US should be wary and take precautions about doing things that enrage the guys who like to protect their people in other areas, like this statement did:

""Lesley Stahl on U.S. sanctions against Iraq: We have heard that a half million children have died. I mean, that's more children than died in Hiroshima. And, you know, is the price worth it?

Secretary of State Madeleine Albright: I think this is a very hard choice, but the price--we think the price is worth it.

--60 Minutes (5/12/96)""

We thought the dead of that many children was worth the sanctions, which simply punished Iraq citizens for Saddam having and using weapons we helped him attain.

Someone was eventually going to come after us about that and the deaths of innocent Palestinians with the weaspons we helped Israel attain.

So our answer was this war crime in Iraq. We have only given others even more reason to attack our own innocents.

No one I knew personally died in the attacks, but my stepson was in NYC on that day and had almost been assigned by his work to work in the WTC. One of his friends went instead, and never came home. He now lives outside the country, probably as a direct result of this.

Personally, none but I believe that life is a gift and those that enjoy killing need to be defeated. I believe the U.S. is taking precautions but needs to increase it's efforts.
