Pee in it , unless your drinking beer right now the smell of urine should cover the beer smell right up!

Or you could try something like Fabreese, it's a freshener intended for fabric and it's available at the grocery store.

A friend of mine years ago suggested using fresh ground coffee in a cheese cloth bag to get rid of a bad smell in a car I owned. His theory was to introduce a new smell to take away the bad smell, something you can live with till that oder goes away. If the beer was absorbed into the foam you may be boned, although I did like the fabreeze idea.

Good luck and start looking for a new helmet

Something my grandma used to do, old Check remedy.
Take a bottle of vinegar, dab a little onto the end of a cloth. Then rub it inside the infected part of the helmet and wait two hours. then wash out the area that yo treated with warm water and then treat with detergent you use in when you wash your clothes. afterwards let it sit to dry then find something that makes a smell you do like and add a little bit of that to the area being treated.
when I say let sit I mean indoors, in a well ventilated, dry area. Basically away from the sun.

Start using a glass instead. Seriously, you don't. Enjoy the smell or stop wearing it.
