you've never been to a pumpkin patch? You poor deprived person. :0) We go every year to this farm to pick our pumpkins. They ride you out to the pumpkin patch and it's a BIG field full of pumpkins on the vine. We've gone ever since my son was little. My only rule every year was you have to be able to carry the pumpkin that you pick yourself. That way I didn't get stuck carrying my son's pumpkin plus mine too. So when he was real little, he'd get small pumpkins, then every year when he got bigger so did his pumpkin. It's great. Unfortunately, this year is the first year that we haven't had jack-o-lanterns.

They go on Halloween night to wait for the Great Pumpkin to come and shower them with gifts. It is a patch where pumpkins are grown. Every Halloween the Great Pumpkin selects his favorite pumpkin patch and showers it with gifts. Everyone knows that.

People go to a pumpkin patch to find a pumpkin that they can choose and carve. They usually will choose one just based on their personal preference. It's basicly a corn-field with a bunch of pumpkins in it.
