It depends on you.

Macs are generally geared toward graphic-intense programs like Photoshop. They are generally more expensive than PCs. They do not get viruses because nobody bothers to make viruses for them (not a high enough density in the population). Macs are supposedly easier to learn.

PCs are geared toward whatever you want them to be geared toward. PCs are more easily upgraded. More people can help you with a PC problem. PCs may get viruses if you are into opening emails from people you dont know, or go to porn sites, etc...

Hi, Mac's and pc's r just computers what matters is the operating system. Pc's generally use Microsoft Windows and Macs use Mac OS X which is based on Unix. Unix is a lot more secure than Microsoft Windows. Mac's have software for photo and video editing and they r awesome but how many photos and movies do u want to edit. All the software in the world is made for pc's only. However if u want to use a Unix based system on a pc then why not use Linux, its way better in my opinion then both Windows and Mac OS X. I hope I helped.
Good Luck and take care!

Apple because you don't get Viruses and Spyware!

Many will also say that there is way more software for the PC, which is technically true. But that argument boils down to this:

PC's have more software because a large majority of the software for the PC is in the following categories:
1) Cheap junk that's worthless
2) Really specialized and esoteric stuff most people never need.
3) Programs to fix all the faults, shortcomings, viruses, security problems and other glitches rampant in Windows. Because it's based on the same defective operating system that Microsoft has been selling since the beginning.

Yeah you can get 500 different anti-virus programs for windows, but when Mac's don't even need anti-virus (except to keep from becoming a vector for other PC's) then can that really be considered a factor?

Unless you are into doing AUTOCAD, then anything you ever wanted to do is available for Mac. And on top of that, you can use bootcamp and start your Mac up in Windows if you ever need a reminder of just how much better your computing life has become.

Mac - because the operating system is more stable, the security is better, if an application crashes the operating system doesn't crash with it, because it doesn't require defragmenting all the time (I'd rather USE my computer than MAINTENANCE my computer) and because the software I will be using works on a Mac, and not a PC. Now that Apple has switched to Intel processor chips and can run Windows, I see no reason to buy a PC anymore because the Macs can run the Apple software AND the PC software. The new release of the "Tiger" operating system includes "Boot Camp" which will allow you to run Windows on an Apple computer (just not at the same time as the Apple software, but Apple is probably trying to figure out a way to do that too!). For me, Mac "rules".

PC

Macs are ridiculosly over priced, because most people think you cant run the mac OS (wich is better than windows) on a pc, but you can, they are exactly the same hardware wise (they use the same parts from the same companies and such, only put them in different types of cases.)

You can take any mac, wich is just a "personal computer" running a different operating system, and find a pc thats 30-60% cheaper.

Besides, the mac os is based on linux, wich is free, so if you want a mac because of the OS, you can just buy a pc and stick linux on it.

I used to think PC, but a couple of months ago I got a Mac and it's really nice. It's so much better than a PC. They have better WiFi internet connection (if you have a laptop), it has cooler programs, better games, and most of all it has very good virus protection. With the PC, you have to download all this stuff in order for your computer to be safe of viruses. With the Mac, you buy it and it has everything. A Mac takes a little to get used to, but you get used to it quick. The Mac is much better.

So, since Macs and "PCs" uses the EXACT same hardware minus the proprietary BIOS, what this is really about is OSX vs Vista or Windows XP. There is no hardware difference, aside from aesthetics. People who claim Wifi is better with a Mac (or something to that effect) have no reasoning to back up their claim. I understand however there are different wireless cards (intel, atheros, etc) but it is idiocy to claim that identical hardware is superior on one platform or another. Macs Laptops also have a wide price range. From $899 on up to thousands of dollars. Ok my opinion?

Vista is Garbage. It is obtrusive, annoying, bloated, and full of content protection software. It (Windows) however is what 90 percent of the world uses as a computing platform. Lots of software, lots of exploits, lots of flexibility with the hardware. (cheap, readily available)
Mac OSX is more secure by design, not just because it isn't as popular as Windows. Mac OS is built on UNIX, and UNIX systems are the backbone of the internet, and corporations, and have been for 30+ years. Windows always has been a consumer operating system, while MacOSX utilizes a more powerful and secure by design Core underneath the pretty effects. There is a lack of software for Mac. But that is also changing. More new titles are released all the time, so in a few years there will be more of a level selection I think. Like stated before: Hardware-wise, Macs are the same as PCs.

I run Linux personally, so I have a pretty balanced opinion when it comes to Windows vs Mac OSX debates. I will admit however, I have a strong dislike for Vista.

It really depends on what you do. PC has more access to add ons like games and programs, but Mac is more artsy. I have a mac, you can do a lot of video stuff with it along with tons of stuff PCs can't do.

a mac, and not just because I own one but they're the best when it comes to keeping the viruses off of your computer, I've only had one major thing wrong with my mac so far since I got it and thats when it was 3 months old probably and I had to leave it in the shop for a couple of days and thats because the harddrive was bad in it, but that rarely happens, and it plays videos and music better than any other computer I've had so far :) I hope this helped some
oh, and you can't play a lot of games on a mac, a PC's just good for gaming
