Americans like the richness of coffee. Tea is more subtle. coffee also give you a bigger jolt of energy. Americans live at much higher speeds than the British.

We eat while we drive. We have breakfast meetings. If we can do more than one thing at a time we might just get everything done. But we never do. We never will. But we keep trying.

I dont think theres anything wrong with us because we happen to enjoy coffee. Coffee is just more commercial here, so you'll see more coffee places, and advertisements. Some of us enjoy tea as well. I happen to like both.

I like coffee because it's what my mom drank when I was a child. Plus, it's got a stronger (and completely different, of course) flavor than tea, and more caffeine, so it does a better job waking me up.

I also like tea. I usually have a cup every evening (my favorite is Typhoo) to relax.

priximity to Latin American coffee growing regions vs. Asia for tea may have also played a part in times past, establishing a cultural norm.
