According to Mayan mythology and calculation something or someone will come down from the skies and the world will end. The end of the Mayan world as they saw it came when Christianity and European colonialism took over their culture.

The world ends everyday somewhere for someone. I'm waiting to see what happens when the Yellowstone caldera or similar erupts. Supposedly around September of 2009. That could mean an agonizing death for some while others will die instantly. There are many natural ways for thousands of people to suddenly die.
As for the world itself ending; I seriously doubt that will happen for a very long time. But, if it does; just hope you go as quickly and painlessly as possible. Hopefully, I'll be watching it on the news as long as I can rather than hopelessly stuck in some traffic jam trying to escape. A rapture in a "friendly" UFO might be preferable also. Our world as we now know it can end or be drastically affected if we enter a new ice age where we can't grow any foods or even move around as usual. I would suspect that the governments have some type of plan in place but most likely and unfortunately for most of us will wait several months until most have died out. There are supposedly some underground bunkers for just a select few to survive comfortably. But, if our world has massive continental land movements, mudslides and earthquakes such as some might predict along with a polar shift, even these people would be at risk. So, a UFO would be still be preferable.

Depends on several things. Are you asking Christians? is the interpretation of the people who divined this data accurate? I never read about the world ending, as much as a new one will begin. A gradual change for those who are spiritual change, a torment for those who are not. Not because they're evil, and not forever. A torment because according to this prophecy the magnet shield of our earth will stop. The planet may even reverse it's rotation. Humans need magnetics to live. Plus research what it'll be like to look with your eyes if you planet moves to the fourth and later the fifth demension. The earth will not end. The Creater has promised that the earth will not end for a long time. That's all the info I have, and I can't guarantee its accuracy. To find out what it will feel like read a book entitled: Waking to Zeropoint.

this is what the Maya calendar predicts...put in a graph, the I Ching shows something is going to happen on December 21st 2012, the prophetess of Sybil said about a big catastrophe around 2012...personally i don`t think the world is going to end but hell i hope something will happen. For me, it will be a normal day and i`ll just be doing the usual daily routine...

It won't happen. People have been predicting the end of the world since the beginning of time and it hasn't happened yet.
I'll be doing whatever I normally do that day.

No one knows the date. The time. No one knows when the 2nd coming of Christ is going to happen. Only God knows. No one can know for sure what is going to happen as well except by what the bible tells us in Revelations.
Want answers. Read the book of Revelations in the bible.
Hope this helps.
