I want to be in charge of a major company, CEO or a similar position.

Business Administration? I heard this major is for losers and aret too popular in the job world. Economics? These are the top 2 majors that I like the most.

Becoming a CEO, or in charge of a major company, is very difficult to do. You cant simply go to college and major in CEO!

The truth is, there is no one major that most CEOs graduate with. A large percentage of CEO (in a lot of smaller companies) didnt even graduate from college. They become CEO because of their skills (leadership, social, motivational), and their drive to succeed.

The best advice is to simply major in a field that you would want to work in for a while, and a field that you can succeed in. Also, while you are at school, be involved in extra curricular activities that can give you real world experiences and develop your leadership and organizational skills. This will give you the skill set you need to get a good job when you graduate and hopefully set you up in a path towards upper management!

DrLG said it - doesnt really matter what you major in. And watch it with the Business Administration insults, we are far from loosers. What do you think MBA means - it is a Master of Business Administration!!!

Whatever you end up studying depends on what kind of an organization you would like to head. If it is an engineering firm better take some engineering major and so on.

But at the end of the day - you will have to take some business classes in order to be a good manager/CEO. So after your Bachelor you will probably need to do an MBA.

It is much more about the attitude than your formal education.

Why don't you concentrate in getting your bachelor first and then worry about becoming a CEO. Mind you, it is very unlikely that you will become one right after school. Being a CEO requires a lot of work experience and a lot of networking to climb that corporate ladder.

It is not so much a matter of the degrees that you hold but your attitude, work ethic, knowledge, skills. intelligence, and luck.
