My gran told me the other day that i was looking older and she told my sister in law that she had put weight on...... It's funny how old people can get away with it.... :O)
Have you been insulted by an old person and not been offended?

Haha, my gran always tells me i'm putting weight on. Another classic of hers is 'when did you last wash your hair' and after getting my hair cut she said 'it'll be ok once you do something with it'. After going to hers in a new pair of shoes she looked at them and said 'have you been to the market again?'. I don't get offended by them, find them quite funny and i always look forward to hearing whay she is going to come out with next!

old people want respect from use young ones but dont show it. yesterday i was food shopping and and old couple and in their 60's was stopped suddenly in the entrance and my trolley bumped the woman i could stop apolgising even though it wasnt really my fault and the women turned round and shouted in frount of everyone, 'you should be bloody sorry you kids have no respect, you just dont care do you?' it wasnt my fault and humliating me isnt showing me respect, i was brought up that you get respect when you show respect! and just to note im not a 16 year old kid wearing a hoody im a 21 year old married women wearing a suit because i been to a job interview!

Frequently - but its not worth getting offended with an old person. I guess they just feel they can say what they like. Of course, it depends what age you are and what you consider old! I'm pretty sure they really don't mean to hurt and are just speaking their mind!

Yes. I visited a former coworker in a nursing home. She told me three times in the first two minutes that I've "gotten fat!"...I was not offended. I can handle the truth...lol.

I was thankful when my sister told me I had bad breath. How can you help yourself if nobody tells you what the problem is. If your gran told you how much older you were looking, that might give you the incentive to use creams or dress younger, lose weight (if possible) or something that might make you look or feel younger... I never go out of the house now without my breath freshner!! Thanks SIS!

Yes by my friends nan, I've lost almost 4 stone since February and she told me the other day I was getting fatter, you have to laugh or you'd cry with half the stuff she says.

Well, I'm in my sixties and wouldn't dream of saying any of those things to my family or anyone else. It's just rudeness. Don't tar us all with the same brush.

I know. They just blurt out whatever they want with no regard to anyone's feelings. I don't think being "old" has anything to do with it though. That's just being RUDE! Younger people do it too.
