Why start a rookie when the guy you have in there is doing just fine? D Anderson has decent numbers, and is putting up points, averaging over 24 pts a game. They have to showcase Anderson to use him as trade bait once Quinn is ready to step in.

Derek Anderson is having a good year, at this rate he's on pace fo 37 TD's for the season. Sure he's got his ups and downs but the team is more competitive now since it's come back to Cleveland. It will be interesting to see how it works out for the rest of the year and during the off season now that he's a restricted free agent. The WR are more confident in him right now because the team is moving the ball rather than watching from the sidelines, that's always a plus.
It will be interesting off season, Browns are in that situation like the Chargers when they had Drew Brees and Phillip Rivers, I wouldn't be surprised if the Browns sign Anderson up to a 1 year deal and see how he does the following year and Quinn sits another year a la Chargers.

1) Quinn is a rookie and has no experience

2) Quinn held out all pre-season and never had a chance to learn the offense

3) Quinn's only NFL experience came against the 3rd stringers (all were cut) of the Lions.

4) Previous (bad) decisions to start Tim Couch, and Charlie Frye have cost the Browns more than just a few games. Plus look at the Broncos with Cutler. Also, look at the careers of Joey Harrington and Ryan Leaf. QB is a position that has to be learned in today's NFL.

Don't worry though. If Anderson gets hurt Quinn is in, although it would be a mistake. More than likely, Quinn is the opening day starter next season.

Because Anderson is doing pretty good and the just drafted Brady Quinn. Anybody in the NFL will tell you that you generally don't want to start a rookie QB in their first season because it takes a while to soak in all the information that comes at you being an NFL QB. And you really don't want to take a chance at shaking your rookie QB's confidence up too much.

because Derek Anderson has the second most fantasy points behind tom brady right now.

Why the heck would you start a rookie when you've got a guy having an almost probowl caliber season?

Derek Anderson has been in the league longer and so he was number 2 at the start. Now Anderson is showing why he is the starter.

Why start the heir apparent this early sit him a yr , then after the line jells ( if it does) and the addition of a good running back and maybe 1 more reciever , cut him loose and start him .

Because Anderson is doing well right now...When he falters, Quinn will be in...

No reason to rush Quinn. IMO he will be the next Ryan Leaf anyway.
