No not most but pretty much lots of us, with out a question. I think within our myths we are some of the worse out there. Most of us are judgmental and think we merit more then others and if we had it our way, things would be pretty scary around here.. It is the truth but most people wouldn't admit it. Most do the judging and loathing of others where they will not be judged and in places like this. I am an American and only speaking the truth.

People are people, and all people look for what is like them in others. In most countries of the world, there are relatively homogeneous populations. Where there are more than one, there is usually conflict, IE Iraq. The US has a relatively unique population, in that there are many ethnic varieties in this country, and most of the time, most of them find a way to work together. This is a relatively fragile construct though, and when one group sees a readily identifiable group as having an advantage over them, hostility will erupt. This is true everywhere, not just here.
It becomes remarkable here though, because there is so little of it when you look at the diversity that is in this country.
I think that the more useful question is, compared to the rest of the world, why do Americans, of all races and creeds and national origins have the rights that other countries assign only to one elite group?

If you notice racism that much, then you also own a part of it, but against US. Actually, no, we aren't racist for the most part...we are good people. But we totally respect the melting pot about certain groups of people because of what they have shown us for character. I grew up in one of the worst cities in all of America, Compton California. We were the only white family there, and I learned the facts. It had nothing to do with racism. I learned that going outside my yard in Compton would get me killed, I learned that Compton black people will torch their mom's and dad's shops if they got pissed off enough, I learned that these particular black people in the city where I lived collectively cannot deal with their anger so they resort to mob mentality. I learned that more than 2 Comptonians walking towards me is bad news and to run, and I learned what racism was by experiencing it firsthand. But it still doesn't mean I am one.

So every time I hear of black people doing the "woe is me" song, I just have one thing to say, get over it. I was the one who was discriminated against, I was the one who lost my mother at the age of 11 because she was beat up so badly for looking at the black girls who were having a PMS day. I was the one who experienced pain and suffereing and I lived in fear every day. No, I am not racist, I am experienced. I learned the hardest way, that skin color does matter to them. I knew nothing about it until they showed me what it was. I am not a racist though, I have many friends who are black. But I don't forget from where I came.

After 9-11, we all learned some more lessons just like the one I learned as a kid. It's called survival and we all got a little bit more "street-smart." If a bunch of terrorists want us American's dead, then we know that we need to stay out of their neighborhoods, and be cautious when they board planes with us etc. It's not racism, because racism is raised through ignorance. Any group that claims we are all racists refuse to take responsibility for their own actions which keep this so called discrimination going decade after decade. All of the worst city's in the USA to live in, are predominantly black. Why is that? Nope, you can't pin the bad rap on us anymore, because we don't have slaves, we don't torch your hometown because we get pissed, we don't tell you to not work, and that you can't go to school and make something of yourself. We don't stand in your way of making a better life for yourself, YOU DO!

It's not racism, it's just the facts, and I should know, because I've witnessed it all when I was growing up.

Far less racist than any other country. This is the "melting pot".
It's a natural tendency for humans to be biased to some level, but the U.S.A. works at accepting all races. For the most part the only intolerance is toward those that come to the U.S.A. and commit crimes, or try to turn this country away from its roots.

Like any group of people from any country - some are, some aren't. Also, like any large group of people, it varies by region of the country, neighbourhood, income, experiences, ratios of races, etc.

In general, I find them no more or less racist than one would expect. These days, I think there is a greater divide between liberal and conservative, Muslim or Christian, etc.

No. Most American are just people like me and you. Nobody is purebred....these aren't dogs we're talking about. As the world grows smaller and cultures and races melt together, there is less and less room for racism all over the world. And, by the way, Americans have never had the market on racism. Unfortunately, it has always been stock in trade all over the world.

Depending upon the geography, most Americans (southern), are racist towards muslims and people who do not appear as WASPS.
