First of all, any teacher should know that this is no way to take a survey that has any validity. The results are meaningless because: 1) The survey group is too small. and 2) those who answer here are unlikely to be a true cross-section of opinion. Why not teach them how to take surveys that could be trusted and how they can be manipulated to get any results one desires? By the way I'm moderately liberal, but from the results I've seen so far, I'd say we're overrepresented in your survey. I wish it wasn't so but it is.

BTW, since you are studying this, you might find it interesting to google, "political compass" and look at their questionaire. It puts people on a 2 dimentional grid according to Liberal-conservative on one axis and Authoritative-libertarian. It's pretty interesting.

Andrew,
I believe that tax dollars collected for specific purposes should be used solely for that purpose and not put in a "general" fund to be squandered by our Representatives on earmarks. i.e.
Social security funds should be for social security.
Gasoline taxes for roads/bridges, for roads /bridges
I do not believe our gov't should deregulate federally secured, funded, insured corporations, industries and entities, then turn around and bail them out when they fail due to the deregulation, w/o SERIOUS consequences to all those who are responsible, including the Representatives who knowing assisted in the deregulation knowing failure, usually due to fraud, was emanate.
ALL federal monies should be strictly REGULATED!
Unless regarding national security, Congress/Senate should NEVER hold a close door session or meeting .
I believe, food, water, utilities, oil/gas should be federally regulated due to their necessity "to all" to survive.
Why do companies/corporations believe they should be federally subsidized, yet have no federal oversight.
Why should your tax dollars go to subsidize someone who cares nothing about your well being?
Label me as you may

Liberal. I doubt anyone will call themselves a radical or reactionary even though they are one.
