Can you see through it when there are not any decorations on it? If so, it is a bit thin and you will have to put many ornaments and lights to compensate.
Other things, like shape, height, and clearance. If you do not have enough clearance, how can tall presents be put beneath it. There are extenders that will lift a tree farther off the ground.
I would use these whenever I could.
