I have a 89 Buick Regal and it doesn't blow out any air no matter how high the setting is. It makes the noises that it normally would when you put the settings on high (loud air noise) but nothing comes out.

The air system has push buttons and all the lights come on no problem.

Does anyone know what this could be and would it be a simple fix or an expensive one?

Will this problem also not help with cooling down the engine?

Check and see if the air is coming out the defrost vent.(on the windshield) I believe you have a vacuum problem which your vents don't have the ability to change. A severe vacuum leak could effect engine temperature I doubt that your leak is that severe. You probably have another problem with the engine getting hot.

Check or have someone check the vacuum supply that operates the heater blend doors. this is a common problem and an easy fix. Open your hood and listen for a hissing sound near the rear of the engine compartment. If you locate the vacuum leak, try stopping the leaking and chances are it will work again.

This could be as simple as a broken vacuum hose, but also could require the dash to be disassembled for the repair. There is no way to know for sure until it is checked by a shop. I don't' think it will affect the engine temperature at all, at least it shouldn't.

See if all the air is blowing at the windshield (defrost). If so, you may have a vacuum hose problem under hood probably.

Sounds like the blower motor is defective.
