This is all to do with the pelvis, not the "butt".
babies when born have to go through the womans pelvic region,
this can be painful and hard to birth if the pelvis is narrow.
Therefore:
If a woman has a big butt it is probably the pelvis that has created this shape, you will not necessarily make it easier to give birth by gaining weight.

Women can have good birthing hips or a wide pelvis without having a big butt. A big butt has very little to do with a person bone structure.

It's not the size of the butt, it's the width of the pelvis. But yes, a wide pelvis can make giving birth less painful.

A plump derriere and a broad hip bone structure are two different things. A broad birth canal would make for an easier and less painful delivery.
I learned I have a very narrow pelvic structure when I gave birth to my daughter, ouch. But then again I was unconscious for most all of it.

Wider hips will make it easier to push the baby out, but it does not affect labor itself. However, you still can have a good natural birth if you practice and prepare yourself. Look for the book, Natural Childbirth the Bradley Way. I used the Bradley method with all four of my kids and it works great.

if that's true, then why was my sister and myself in so much pain when we delivered. It also don't mean you have bigger pelvis. I had no problem delivering my two girls while my younger sister who had wider hips and a bigger butt had major problems delivering.

I don't think it has to do with the size of the butt but the width of the hips.
