(a). Correct!
(c). Because there are so many youngsters who are waiting for a chance to play for India. Need to be fair to them as well. No need in sticking to an individual player if he is out of form. After all, it is a team sport!

c. I don't understand the hue & cry over dropping Dravid. There are so many youngsters waiting in the wing to prove themselves. We have to look into the future where Dravid is no longer an option. He has already done India proud so many times, let others also be given a chance to do the same. I think Dravid along with Sachin and Ganguly should retire from cricket voluntarily while the going is still good and thereby give youngsters a chance, rather than be thrown out of the team disgracefully. As far as Dinesh Karthik is concerned he should be given more chances

For Dravid Ya. See, Rahul is great player and u need him against Australia in Australia and in all sots of test matches. We've always seen that a big player when makes his come back he comes with a bang. Well if u leave all the emotions aside u'll see that series against Australia is more important than Pakistan. I think Rahul is just dropped from the ODIs and not the test side. Its good to give a player a break when a player is not in his best of form and give the chance to a youngster, after all Rahul, sachin & Sourav are just for 2 more years maximum.Apart from that this is what you call Rotation policy.
I also think at the place of Dinesh Karthick, Rohit Sharma could have been given a break and instead of Praveen kumar, Suresh Raina would have been a good choice. He also lift team's Fielding standards and he has an experience of international cricket. Apart from that u really do not see any place for Praveen kumar in the first 11 when u already have a n attck of 5 bowlers with either RP or Sreesanth sitting outside.

Droppin Dravid is perhaps the opening that a lot of youngers get to start playin in the team. Dravid is more than mature enough to understand the reasons for which he was dropped. He is sure to come back into the team after a while. Meanwhile we could groom some younger players to take the place of Dravid, Ganguly and Sachin when they finally decide to retire. He may be secretly happy about the outcome cause he has time to spend with his family now. The Indian cricketers hardly ever get any free time these days. Karthik has to work a bit harder on his temperament and his skills before coming back into the team... :)

I agree with the selectors. Dravid has lost his ODI form. He has scored at an average of 10 in last 10 marches. For a player of his calibre this is unacceptable. He should be made to sit out when his form has dipped so low.
I have a question to raise, when he has lost his touch and was going through a tough bad patch why wasn't he playing Challenger trophy? Hw would have got some match practice and possibly coould have regained his lost touch. Idea of resting seniors in Challengers was Ok if all the seniors were really doing well.
As far as Dinesh Karthik is concerned. He has performed in patches. He should be consistent to retain his spot in the team. Or else he will have to face axe intermittently, like he has this time.

No, Its not fair to drop the Dravid from the Indian squad. Because he is the player how can withstand for any situation when compared to other players. He is the one who work hard for the success of the Indian Team. When all the persons like Sachin, Sehwag and Ganguly fails he is the person who plays a long innings and building the partnerships with the other players which helps in winning of so many matches. As we all knows there is some what exception for the player like Sachin who was not going to perform good in some matches. Inspite of that also he was not out of the squad. Then why the selectors take the decision of droping the player like Dravid for the failure in one single series.
My opinion is that Dravid is the best player that I have seen ever. It is not fair to drop the Draivid (my hero)from the Pak series.

c) No. Dravid can never be told as a flop batsman. He had faired badly in only last 5- 10 one day matches. He is the most consistent batsman among his contemporaries and that too , when Indian team required his scoring. If the BCCI is basing their selection on 5- 10 ODI's, then Sachin and many others could have been out of the team long long before.
No need to worry of Dravid, since he will be in the team soon, as Indian cricket team cannot dispense with him so soon.
As for Karthick, He is also a talented player and can be tried for some more time.

No I dont think that dropping Dravid is right thing. He is a very rare technical player not only in India but also in the world now. His technique is unquestionable. Failing in some matches is not the way to judge or doubt his talent. Dont we remember that he has played so many crucial innings to score runs for India and built up partnerships with other players. Senior players like Laxman, Dravid are always treated badly by Indian selectors. I dont understand what is the capability of Mr.Sehwag to take him into the team. He had not scored runs for India as opener long before the world cup. Even though he was selected for T20 world cup he was unable to prove his worth. But now he has been selected in our team by quoting that he is a dashing player. Who has seen his performance and where ? I feel very sorry for Dravid since he is a very sensitive person. He may be thinking of retirement from ODIs. If that will happen India will lose a great player for ODI team.

Yo... the options given are so biased. Dude just don't ask the question if you've already made up the answer and don't want to listen to anybody else.

As for dropping Dravid... there's simply no reason...

1. If Dravid was dropped due to performance issues.. maybe you should just have a look at the batting averages and the consistency of the OTHER senior players (who never get dropped).. YOU'LL GET YOUR ANSWER.

2. As for getting in new blood... don't we need experienced and technically sound players to teach youngsters.. afterall, how many matches can you win just on fresh talent. EXPERIENCE IS SOMETHING

3. With regard to the above, DRAVID is probably the only player who has been a consistent performer and can teach the young players a thing or two.

That said... the only reason I see in Dravid being dropped is the usual "POLITICS". He was wise enough to know that captaincy was hampering his as well as the team's performance and resigned. Maybe the selectors are too naive to understand such things and are happy to drop people just like dat!!

Yes 100% correct.
Underperformers should be OUT.
Let Karthick learn to be a better batsman & fielder.
As for Dravid,he is slow, cannot bowl and off late fielding not upto mark.Let him come back as Ganguli did.
For that matter both Sachin & Ganguli should be also be on their toes. The best have retired though still much more physically & mentally fit.
Can we imagine a tripple hundred from Sachin Or Dravid Or Saurav?Lara , Hayden and many on wrong side of thirty can still do so!
All our three seniors have served Indian Cricket very well and should now PARTICIPATE in shaping a young India team then drag their feet on the ground.Their rightful place is in Temple Of Cricket where we will all go and worship them.
The youngsters will respond to the right calls.
