2. Do you think you get unbiased report of situation?
Please mention if you have been to/are from other country.

Interesting. Usually conservative Americans point to the "liberal" media bias. The reality is most media has a conservative slant because most owners are conservative. It costs a lot of money to own a media outlet and conservatives are the people with deep pockets.

I agree with a previous poster who says if it doesn't have an American angle, your media isn't interested. I'm Canadian. I've always maintained that US media can only cover about five countries at a time.

They like anything involving the Royal Family in Britain because it can play into their stereotypes of Brits. Plus, you can always pull up colourful images of Royal events.

They will look at Russia and China because they were former enemies and equal power bases.

Then the other international rotation would include: something from the Middle East (because of oil), a reference to Israel (because there's a strong lobby in the US), and how Cuba is a threat (playing to voters in Miami). Other countries would get coverage depending on the size of a disaster, if a president visits, if they do something to offend US interests.

As a consequence I don't think Americans are as well informed as they think they are or should be. The US media would have you think that the Middle East is vital to your energy supplies. Well, they're important, but they're you're number three source of fuel. Canada is number one, Venezuela is number two. Canada is your largest trading partner.

I don't know if you're old enough to remember when the Japanese economy was hot and they were buying up big chunks of America (The Empire State Building, film studios, etc.). Well, as much as they spent in the US, the Japanese were behind the Brits, Dutch and Canadians who invested in America. It's just that the Japanese looked different and had a noticeably different culture.

I don't think Americans are well served by their media. I'm in the US several times a year and your newspapers are dull and local TV news shallow and radio has been highjacked by nutcases.

I'm American and I think our media is terribly biased. Some is very conservative and some is very liberal, depending on the station. But all of it is very limited to reporting only a few stories deemed interesting by someone who should have their head examined.

I think BBC has the best coverage of world events. U.S. focuses primarily on the U.S. and generally only reports on events in other countries when there is a major tragedy.

I absolutely believe that the American media is left-biased. ABC, CBS, NBC, and CNN all echo each other's viewpoints with a single voice. FOX is supposed to be the "balance", but even they shy away from the tough stories that might be "politically incorrect" to report.

When was the last time you saw a news story that even dared to investigate the social, psychological, and medical dangers of homosexuality?

When was the last time you saw a news story that asked one single question about the holocaust that might depart from the "official" version of events?

When was the last time you saw a news story investigating the aggressive harrasment tactics of the Southern Poverty Law Center or the ACLU?

When was the last time you saw a news story covering the factual reason why Zimbabwe's economy has collapsed?

We don't see stories like this, because they are censored.

Hi, I'm from Venezuela and I think media is biased in every country. Stories are published without proper checking, reporters prefer their own opinion, etc.

ALL NEWS IN AMERICA IS BIASED. Okay? Unless you tried really hard, you can't have a truly neutral newscast without it looking dumb. But, trust me, the only "truly truly biased" news source in America...is Fox News Channel. Right-wing bias ahoy!

If it isn't AMERIKAN ... they aren't interested... that is why I watch the BBC to get REAL news... AmeriKans are so supid, they don't have a CLUE what is going on outside their own country.

I lived outside the U.S. 22 years
