hey i was wondering what does billing hours mean

the amount of hours a person spent on your case/file, etc...that they can bill you for. Say a lawyer spent 6 hours getting the paperwork ready for you. He/she charges $200 per hour, at 6 billing hours...so the total would be $1200.

punkin is right. if you suspect the # of hours seems high contact your local bar association and they could give you a heads up if the hours seem reasonable.
