i have both after someone recommended firefox to me. I find it faster to load pages and much better all round. I had ad-aware and spybot,
I am not a computer professional, just a user. all i know is that firefox is easy to use, seems faster to load and I can find add ons for most things i need to do with my PC. I have never had a problem with firefox.
I still use Internet explorer for some things, and I have both. I tend to use firefox 90% of the time and ie 10% of the time
i see two people give a link to the same web page.. is that the only web page on the internet that diss's firefox. :-)

In reply to knox... a lot of your web page is out of date, and is pretty petty and hair-splitting
for example....
--------------------------------
Myth - "Firefox is Completely Free"
Reality - "The truth is, while Mozilla Firefox is open source, it is not entirely free. Several elements are restricted by the EULA, including the trademarked Firefox name, artwork, and the proprietary Talkback crash reporter."
------------------------------------------------------
So, how much did you pay to download your version... I suspect the same as I paid to download my version... $0.00
I have to use both for work.... When i upgraded my IE version to IE7 (wow!! Tabbed browsing at last) it wouldnt work with a couple of websites...
I have never had a problem with speed of loading pages.. probably because I have a half way decent PC with a little bit of RAM
I dont see it as an either/or situation Firefox is my browser of preference, but I do have IE and even use them side-by-side sometime
Knox... you accuse the people who prefer firefox of being on some kind of religious crusade.... from where I'm sitting you sound like you are equally dogmatic about your defense of IE
edit - wow Jibbarja... whatever.... for a 'top contributor' you come out with some real cr@p
Firefox is the seconf most popular browser, and the most popular amongst people who actually know something about their PC's.
"It is very overrated, used mostly by pimply-faced, male, adolescent, fanboys, who are badly in need of female compansionship, and aging hippies with gray ponytails"
sounds like someone needs to spend some time at anger management class. I am neither an adolescent, or an aging hippy.
"People of their ilk wouln't have a clue how to properly secure any browser."
Hah... utter bollox and just shows how totally clueless you are
The fact is - and this is something that IE cultists like jibberjabber and knox dont seem to understand - Firefox is a great browser.... you can test it for yourself, without losing access to Internet Explorer BECAUSE YOU CAN HAVE BOTH SIDE-BY-SIDE AND BOTH CAN EVEN BE USED AT THE SAME TIME WITHOUT EITHER ONE AFFECTING THE OTHER.
Dont listen to biased, dogmatic and prejudiced @rseholes
just download it and try it.. if you dont like it , uninstall it.
OK?
