My room always used to be neat, but these days, i'm so stressed that i've given up on it altogether.

The floor is covered in various items of clothing. There are PILES of books on my table. I have so many that all of my bookshelves are filled. I had to take 17 books off my laptop so I could use it.

I have stuff everywhere and I just don't care. My light bulb blew 2 weeks ago but I can't be bothered to ask my dad to change it, so I read and type by a table lamp.

So, what was your room like as an adolescent ?
How is it now ?

My room was FILTHY! Sounds a bit like yours, with the clothing and 17 books on the laptop. Add on top, half glasses of orange juice left standing to grow green fur over a few weeks.

It's a bit better now. The piles of clothing are now on a chair. There is still too much stuff on the table and I can't find anything. I'm better with stuff that could go off though. No more dirty dishes lying around or fur growing in juice.

I am an adolescent, turning 15 next month, and my room is pretty damn average! I don't care about it either.

My light is one of those lights with two lightbulbs, one of them is broken or something so it doesn't work, so half of my light is from that and half is from my lamp.

I get stressed from school but their are definitely no books on my laptop because my laptop is how I relieve stress - escapism!

I have a special book-clip-light for my books when I'm reading...

My desk is probably the worst area of my room. I agree with you, I don't care, I don't have time to care and I would rather be spending my time doing other things.

I'm not a clean freak and I don't want my room to be perfectly clean, it's normal for adolescents to be messy/clumsy. :)

My room was a horrible mess and it drove my mother crazy. Now, I am much more organized and my house as a whole looks pretty neat. Not perfect, but I wouldn't be embarrassed if someone dropped by unexpectedly. My kid's room, on the other hand, is frightening.

By the way, I will add that everything was neat as a pin when I lived by myself with only two cats for company. Add husband and two children and it's an uphill battle.

My room was always terrible because, when I came home from school I would change, throw my clothes in the floor, and then go to bed. This was on an everyday basis so after a while, it got pretty piled up.

My room is a big mess! There are empty bottles on the tables. I just couldn't be bothered to bring the bottles to the kitchen once i've finished it. My dirty clothes are covering the floor. My bed is very messy. I have 2 big unfolded comforters on it. It's just a huge mess.

It is very bad.
Clothes scattering every where.
Actually i live in hostel here and has nobody to keep clean my home but at my home my mom used to do all this and my room there is very very nice.

Here books and the cups of tea every where.
And no arrangement of footings.
And just i can't explain how much bad it is.
And i'm using my table lamp since about a year lol

My room was a disaster. My mom is a neat freak, so this didn't sit well with her at all, and she was on me constantly about it. One day when I was 14, she tore my room apart while I was at school. When I got home, she said, "Now clean it up and keep it that way!" It took me 2 hours to clean it!

Nowdays, my house is much cleaner than my room was. I'm still not the neat freak that my mom is...but my husband is, so he picks up after me! LOL

My room wasn't alwasy the tidyest, but I wasn't a total slob like many people I knew. I had friends rooms that just STUNK, and you were afraid to go in there. One friend had such a pile of trash everywhere that his Mom gave him a warning, it would all be thrown away if he did not clean it by a certain time. He didn't and she did - he was a writer so a bunch of his writing got thrown away but he was to blame. He was mad of course but she warned him and he was too lazy and disorganized.
Do'nt torture your parents. CLEAN UP YOUR MESS!

Well, I am 19 and when you're busy you sure don't feel like cleaning your room. I have it pretty well organized so it's easier to keep up. Most of the time it's on again off again clean. It will be clean for a month or so until it gets dirty then I'll clean it again . It a cycle.
