Lucifer. Modern and late Medieval Christian thought derived from this misunderstanding that Lucifer is a fallen angel who is Satan, the embodiment of evil and an enemy of God. In Christian literature and legend, Lucifer is generally considered to have been a prominent archangel in heaven
who had been motivated by pride to lead a revolution against God, in "The War of Heaven". When the rebellion failed, Lucifer was cast out of heaven, along with a third of the heavenly host, and came to reside in the world.

Lucifer, whose ambitions were a distortion of God's plan, is known to us as the fallen angel, with the use of many names, among which are Satan, Belial, Beelzebub and the Devil. An outcast since his expulsion from Paradise, this force of evil has been a thorn in the side of mankind and in all probability responsible for the miseries which Christianity has been striving to eliminate throughout the world.

The "fallen angel" you are refering to is Lucifer, the morning star. He was one of God's closest angels and was considered to be very musical and extremely beautiful. It was his vanity and love of power that was his ultimate demise.
Many now refer to him as "Satan" but that is not his name. The term comes from Hebrew "Satanas" which means adversary or opposer.
To put the term into context you can see it used in the bible when Jesus is with his deciples before he is arrested. (Matthew 16:23 & Mark 8:33)

22Peter took him aside and began to rebuke him. "Never, Lord!" he said. "This shall never happen to you!"
23Jesus turned and said to Peter, "Get behind me, Satan! You are a stumbling block to me; you do not have in mind the things of God, but the things of men."
24Then Jesus said to his disciples, "If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.

Lucifer, the Lightbringer, the Morning Star. Lucifer is a personification of the planet Venus, the brightest star in the twilight sky, and a harbinger or rival of the light of the sun (God). Jesus Christ is also referred to as the Morning Star and equated with Venus.

Lucifer. It means "light bearing." Then he fell from god's grace and became known as the devil (literally, "one who slanders") and Satan ("adversary")
