The Shining
Spartacus
A Clockwork Orange
Full Metal Jacket

It's strange that The Shining differed a lot from the book, but it was awesome! The later Shining movie that came out completely went along with the book, and it absolutely bored me to tears! Ole Stanley was different, but he really knew what he was doing!

Stanley is a genius. He made a great film out of a mediocre book (The Shining) .

But his greatest films that I have seen:

1) 2001: A Space Odyssey (the greatest film ever made)
2) Barry Lyndon (try to look away, it's impossible, simply a BEAUTIFUL film)
3) A Clockwork Orange (the lid-lock scene is unforgettable and it had a great soundtrack, Beethoven's ninth)
4) Paths of Glory (an anti-war film)
5) Dr. Strangelove (and another)

God, I love him.

I like several of his movies, but when I was younger and experimenting with a movie camera I went to see "2001: A Space Odyssey" at a local theater (for 50 cents because it was during a Packer football game!) and saw what you could do with a movie camera I was hooked. Now I'm trying to switch over to digital media and get back into it (I stopped for a while). "Dr. Strangelove" is also a classic. I'm also trying to do some serious audio recording, so I'm trying to make up my mind which software to get first - Logic Pro 8 or Final Cut Studio? I'll probably go with "Logic" simply because its much less expensive, and recently the price was cut in half.

Tough...

Probably 2001: I just love the mood of it, kind of eerie. And it has so many classic shots, like guy going for a jog in the spaceship, like in a hamster wheel. The spaceships "dancing" to waltz. It's so well made.

Full Metal Jacket...I think it was the first movie to really depict the VietNam war,and it's effects on our soldiers.
