I am an oversea student and was wondering what you call a party that is dedicated to the work's that somebody is done like what they have done for human rights. but this person has passed away.

what do you mean by party? a celebration of their life?

I dont think there is a word to sum up all the parts you are trying to include.

you may need more of a title.

like a "celebration of the work of Mr Soandso"

or

"A commemoration of Mr Soandso's life:

that's a hard one

I'm not sure that I understand the question but maybe the word you are looking for is: A charity that is an organisation which performs good works. NSPCC; RSPCA, CAFOD< TEAR FUND< RED CROSS< ST JOHN'S AMBULANCE BRIGADE> THE SOUTS ASSOCIATION< THE BOYS BRIGADE< THE GIRL GUIDES ASSOCIATION< THE GIRLS FREINDLY SOCIETY etc.
