i have always paid my csa payments for my 2 children from a previous relationship on time and dont have a problem with this, but i am finding it difficult to pay all the bills and my mortgage . i have in the past phoned the csa and explained ,but they say it cant be reduced, they are not interested.
i was wondering if anyone knows what would happen if i just reduced my payments without telling the csa.
i am in the uk.

If you pay directly to CSA & start reducing the payments they will start arresting your wages for the differences.
The best way around it is to make an appointment to see CSA & take all your relevant documentation with you so that you can prove that you can't afford the amount they ask you to pay. Good Luck

If your ex has a new boyfriend then (I would suggest) the boyfriend should be paying .. if on the other hand she is totally skint, with no-one else to turn to, perhaps you should keep paying.

Find our her circumstances .. if she is rolling in it you could let her know you are in trouble and ask her to accept reduced payments ..

NB> Don't just stop payment .. if you keep paying something and keep talking to CSA they will at least listen to you ..

They will slap an attachment of earnings on you and take their share before you see your money. Keep on at them to re asses your case . 2-3 letters a week for as long as it takes. Also ask to have a copy of all the info they have on you. Make them busy and make them work they will help you in the end . They did for me.

your better to tyr and talk to them!! ask to speak to a supervisor!! as if you reduce your payments and you have a paye job they could start to take the payments direct!! maybe speak to your ex, see if you could reduce the payments with her consent!! and maybe help her out with kids in other ways!!
good luck
