I'm watching repeats of newleyweds and am shocked at how dumb she 'appears' to be. Is this an act or do you think she's really that dippy?

I don't thing so, not only does she know what sells (which is why she goes along with it), but the producers know what sells a show. Reality shows are hyper-reality, meaning that it takes about a months worth of material to shoot one episode and the season doesn't even start until about eight months into filming. In that time they are going edit out the boring material of her scratching her butt, or watching TV, or staring out the window... to show the most entertaining clips: Jessica Simpson being dippy, a running story line about her and her neighbor or in-laws, or whatever. Think to yourself 'If I were shot for eight months in advance, how could I be portrayed?' and don't believe everything you see on TV.

OK, I read this in some paper once, but when Jessica Simpson was at the White House for some reason or other, and was introduced to the Secretary of the Interior, her reply was "You have done a wonderful job with this place".. enough said

I accidentally watched some of Newlyweds and I was horrified that anyone can be THAT stupid. OK, so she is rich and famous, but I wonder what percentages all the hangers-on around her are getting.

yup she's def that dumb, i happened to flick it on one day and she she was eating tuna, and she said "i know this is tuna but is it chicken or fish?" how thick can you get! i dont really like her that much, but she is pretty! and her house is a completer state!!
