I lived in Riverside Ca. Smog used to be really bad there and there are palms that I know are over 60 yr. old.
Like all trees ( they really aren't trees though )lifespan depends on varity. I have seen date palms in Indio Ca. that were over 40 yr. and another kind , don't know the name of that is still alive and is shown in a photograph from the 1920's

Forever. Palm tree is the first tree in the world.

Except something happens, natural palm trees can exist forever man.

i have a palm tree, had it for around 30 years, hasn't died and it's still very healthy, it'll be going for quite a while yet!

In So Cal, because of the smog, around 20 years, maybe.
