No, although a person may be punished for a crime they commit, the person them self must deal with the guilt that they may feel. That is some thing that only they can work through for them self.

Even God can forgive us faster than we can forgive our selves.

i dont think anything can get rid of guilt, i was arrested for public drinking when i was a teen and brought shame to myself and family, yes i felt guilt and i learned by my mistake and never did that again, so i think that punishment play's a part in it,

Guilt cannot be eliminated by punishment because it remains although compensated by paying fines or by being imprisoned.

No. An ex convict who was imprisoned for child molestation is still guilty of the crime and always will be.
