Too bad we can't pick both but your question asks us to make a choice. I have to choose Waylon"Watasha" Jennings. He was an original who told Nashville that he would do it his way and damn if he didn't and I am so glad that he did. Waylon was a good writer as well. Kris is a fairly decent singer but he just doesn't do it as well as Waylon did. Kris is also a pretty good actor. RIP Waylon

IMO Waylon was a real singer as to where Kris was just "okay". I think he (Kris) had a more successful career as a actor in TV and movies. I do believe he was semi- successful with songwriting also. As to where Waylon started as far back as Buddy Holly and the Crickets. I think my favorite album featuring Waylon and his "good ole boy" friends was in titled the "Outlaws"

Kris Kristofferson is okay although to be perfectly honest he cant hit the high notes,but that gravely voice lends itself well to country music.His acting not so good, well do you remember Heavens Gate! i fell asleep watching that Movie.
