For a girl, right?

I like having long hair, it's so much more adaptable than short hair. You can wear it up or down, straight or curly, and you can accessorize it so easily too. to make it look cute or formal or whatever.

Short hair, on the other hand, is soooo much easier to maintain (quicker to wash, etc) but when you have a bad-hair-day, or you need it cut it, looks much worse than long hair because you can't simply restyle it to look like you're doing it on purpose.

It really depends on you. If your goal is to go with the style that best compliments your face then you need to stand in the mirror and judge that. You could get advice from family and friends. You could get advice from a trusted hair stylist. If your goal is for ease of care..what works best to make it easy? Long hair can be put up in a bun, french braid, etc. Short hair can't be put up. I go with long hair because I keep it up so I don't have to deal with it. Short hair seems like too much work for me. If you have light/blonde hair don't layer it though unless you know how it looks..from past experience etc. Layered blonde hair often looks choppy. (me) So it depends on the goal. If you work in a professional office and need to look professional..shorter hair would be easiest. Good luck.

For my face type, it is better to have my hair to my shoulders. I have a longer face and if longer, it makes my face appear longer. Shorter, then my long face shows up more than I want. I also have a high forehead so I have to have some bangs.

Face shape

Once you have considered all hair related challenges, the face shape should be analyzed to select the very best type of style to frame the face. Afterall, while helpful in minimize a myriad of lines and other facial challenges, bangs should flatter and act as a beautiful curtain of tresses.

Consider the following rules of thumb when selecting bangs.

Oval face shapes - the oval face shape is considered to be a face shape that can wear any type of style or hair. This includes bangs which can be worn in just about any style. Of course bangs for oval face shapes should be chosen with an eye for hair type, texture, length and condition.

Round face shapes - the most flattering bang styles tends to be built upon long softly layered or feathered bangs (if your hair texture, type and condition support feathering) that gently hug the cheeks areas to minimize round cheeks. When skillfully constructed, bangs can add beautiful contour to round fact shaped features. Great bands can instantly chisel into the cheekbones and help them pop.

Long face shapes - blunt brow hugging bangs that softly drape over the forehead will help to give the impression of a more oval-shaped face. The oval look can be strengthened by opting for long or graduated layers that softly caress the sides of the face.

Square face shapes - consider side-swept bangs that gently curve or taper inwards towards the jaw to soften pronounced square facial lines. When well cut, side swept bangs can also help soften all the angles of the face.

Heart face shapes - depending on the ultimate goal, bangs can be selected to either minimize the general wideness of the heart shaped face or help to balance the generally prominent chin. A side swept feathered or texturized bang style can also be another great option.

A heart shaped face can also usually carry off full bangs cut straight across the face. Long or short, full bangs can look really great for a heart shape.

Triangular face shapes - wider bangs that are feathered, wispy or texturized can help to balance the face and create more of an oval shape.

A slight wispy fringe will cover and conceal a wide forehead. It will also bring it into a better proportion with a wide chin. Avoid the flat, pageboy fringes. These can level out fullness and height.

Long hair usually hides alot more of your features. And alot more guys are getting used to the idea of girl's with short hair. You can always see alot more of a person's face when they have shorter hair. You don't need to hide behind all that. Show off your face, not that head of hair. And my hair is alot healthier now than it was before. I was always having to straighten it b/c it's so curly. But when I cut my hair short, it cut all my curls out.

This questions gets asked a lot on here.
So I'll warn you that you'll get a lot of people saying "it depends on their face shape/features etc"

And that is true.
So it does depend on the person.

I have short hair, i don't mind it. But I may invest in some hair extensions. Because I suit it more than short.

Each to their own opinion <3

Depends on the shape of your face.

If you have a slender face, then it can go either way.
If you have a round face, it's better to have long hair, too keep your face from looking fat.

In the end, it's whichever one looks best on you, and what you want.

Good luck.

Blimey,

In my hippy and motorbike days I could tuck my long straight hair in a top pocket, which looked "cool" at the time.

It is now business-like news-reader style.

I suppose it is an age thing generally.

My cousin is now bald, so I mustn't grumble.
