Earth Mother Goddess is pissed, that's all, and looking to rebalance Her gifts. I grew up in SoCal, right near a place called Carbon Canyon in Brea. You know why it was named that? Because it caught on fire every year. A natural occurence in a desert. That area does not naturally have tons of water everywhere like we do here in Seattle. So they have nearly pumped the Colorado River dry to haul in water so people can have green lawns and swimming pools. Then combine a very long bad drought with an infestation of a beetle that has killed thousands of trees, and you have a great layer of kindling set for a campfire. Add a few sparks, and whoosh! Gaia tries to send some sacred smudge to clear a very polluted place. I think there is a deeper layer to the pollution that has poisoned souls there too, and I think Gaia is also trying to clear that out.

I do feel bad for the angst that those folks are going through - some of them are my friends and family, and I have some really good friends who were evacuated. But they chose to live there. And each of us has to take responsibility for our choices. I know that sounds harsh but it's the facts. You choose to live in a tinderbox filled with crime, pollution and hatred, you deliberately choose to accept the risk of fire.

So god does not like the OC?

Why do just people in Southern Cali deserve to be punished by god?
Is it a group punishment? Those are never considered fair.

Just as it takes an awfully sick individual to start a fire like that, it also takes a very sick individual to belittle the pain and suffering those poor people of California are going through by trying to justify it on a unproved, sadistic deity.

That`s a good possibility and that`s only a start, look at the climate changes and droughts facing the world, His wrath will come little by little. Those young enough will one day soon see his full fury at work. These r just wake-up calls.

No, it's called fire. It's what happens when some nutbar decides to light fires in tinder-dry vegetation.
