You can’t punish someone for something they have no control over.

What is someone just does not believe in god, or believes a religion that is wrong.
There is no malicious reason for it. It is not like they “reject” god cause they WANT to sin and party with satan.
There is no spite, no malice, in fact they think they are doing the right thing, or what god wants….
But they just got it wrong.

So how can you reconcile a merciful god, with punishing people for being wrong on accident?

OK, so the muslims say it is my fault.

How is it my fault? I just don't believe in Allah. I try real hard. I read the Quran, went to masque. But I could not believe it. I wanted to, but could not. Not out of spite. Not because I wanted to eat bacon....but i just did not believe in it as true.

How can it be my fault?

It is like trying to like something.
I can't make my self like the color brown.
I could pretend I like it, I can try to like it...but if I don't like it...I just don't, and there is no way to control it.

same with beliefs, I can't control what I think is true... I just either think it is true or not

Imagine reading a book. A Novel. You have an imaginary world, created by an author. In it, the author has full control over the people he created..
Now, in a chapter, you read where one questions the creator's existence.

Now, look at God the same way. Like that author, He is in full control at all times. Whatever you believe, is what He wrote for you to believe.

For God is all powerful. No one is more powerful than our creator.

And God is all knowing? Why? Because he wrote the Book. The Book of Life.

If an author knows the ending of his book, then why can't God know the ending of our "book"?

Ant therefore, know the entire story. Every part.

And like a book, a page cannot be changed.

It cannot be re-written after it is published.

Therefore, God has directed our lives, according to the chapters in which we live.

By the way, if you disagree, then let me put it this way.
A creator has full control.
If God does not have full control, over us, and an author has full control over his creations, then who would be more powerful?

One who has full control? or one who does not?

that's what I never understood either. Do people honestly believe their religion, the one they were brought up in based on where they live, is the only correct one?

That god would create whole batches of people in other areas, like Muslims in the Middle East, or people in Africa without any of the 3 big monotheistic religions, just to send them to hell? For not being religious, which is not their fault? Or are they supposed to somehow figure it out and get missionaries and convert? What if they don't? How can people honestly believe that theirs just happens to be the right one? How are people who follow what they are told doing the wrong thing? If everyone who follows the religion they are taught thinks they are doing the right thing? Religious people think THEY are doing the right thing for unquestioningly believing what they are told, yet other religious people should question, disbelieve - and then join another religion?

I don't get it.

Hi - Jesus the Christ is not a prophet of Allah. Jesus the Christ is the Only Begotten Son of the Living God. God is not Allah, and Allah is not God. They are two different Gods, and the God of Israel of the Bible is God. The same with the Koran and the Bible, they are two separate Books. When a person is genuine, sincere, believing that God exists, and they call out to Him, He will answer and make ways to reveal Himself to that person. If a person is not truly sincere/genuine but are just enjoying dabbling with religions, and not interested in a relationship with God as a Father, then they will probably be left to do all the dabbling they want.

How can there be a "wrong God"? Isn't faith believing in all things there is hope? Judging is not what the Christan God had in mind for his followers, some just don't read their bible. Following the flock without a thought of their own. No matter what or who someone believes in, it should be accepted. The Christian God gave us all choices. Why don't his followers do the same? Who do they think will suffer when their time comes? Those who allow the freedom of religion or those who curse and damn others for not believing what they do?
If more people would read the bible they are thumping it, there wouldn't be so much hate, or misunderstands.

I don't think God punishes honest mistakes. The problem is whether it is an honest mistake or not.

We've seen a lot of postings concerning self deception. Is it possible that we reject God because we don't want Him to be an authority over us? If there is God, then we are no longer master of our fate and captain of our soul. We no more want God in our life than we want to take our parents with us when we go off to college.

I think we choose our path and then we add little bits of evidence that we select that strengthens the position we've already taken.

God answered this in his Word.

Matthew 24; 14- And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.

Mark 16; 15 - And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

Acts 17;31 - Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by [that] man whom he hath ordained; [whereof] he hath given assurance unto all [men], in that he hath raised him from the dead.

Romans 5;1 - Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:
Romans 5;9 - Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.
Romans 5;21 - That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.

Romans 5;12 - Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:

How can a person be wrong for what they believe to be true to them? Everyone has their own experiences that lead to their beliefs. Sometimes our beliefs change. Sometimes they differ from others. Personally I believe in a God of my own understanding, and I have no problem with others' beliefs . . . until they attempt to force them on me.

if you believe in the wrong God , yes it is your fault ,

Only one simple check ,

If a religion allows you to use your brain and allows you to question on fundamentals of the faith , then that IS the true religion ,

The true religion never ask or allow you to have a belief , while evidence is standing against it ,

The question is "do you bother enough and do intensive research to find the fact" ,

And "if" you still choose a wrong one , the answer #1 refers.

"monkey man" !!! illogical is no religion at all.

The reverse of Pascals wager - as there are so many gods the chances are that you'll pick the wrong one. Therefore you stand a better chance by not choosing one at all
