But i once heard someone said that if your dog has black spots on her body, that means she has fleas/ticks, well I already sprayed her after her shower with this insecticide I got at the pet shop but I can't help but worry that will it work? How long does it take to work and how does it work? I'm so scared and I don't want my miniature poodle to have fleas, thanks in advance and please help.

if the dark spots move..that means flees but if they are dark spots that do not move..then its most likely dirt. go to the vet and get "advantage" it is drops for dogs which you place on back of the neck and at base of the tail..it works...your dog wont have fleas or ticks for a whole month.
also do not buy flea drops at pet store or any other store, they are cheap and wont work..only get the flea meds at your vet.

Yes, little black specks that turn red when wetted are a sign of fleas - they're the fleas' poo.

That spray isn't going to work. Nothing from a pet store does. Pet stores aren't licensed to sell the proper chemicals for flea treatment - anything you find in store is just going to be a basic pesticide that you can't expect to work. You need to go to a vets for some proper treatment i.e Frontline, Advantage or Revolution. These products work. Frontline and Advantix are tick as well as flea treatments.

You will probably have to spray your house as well, since this is where most of the fleas are living. Again, get something from a vets, not a pet store.

Rather than using a spray flea treatment you might like to use a product such as Advantage, or a new product called Advantix. It is easy to apply, has no fumes to choke us and repels fleas for approximately 3-4 weeks. Advantix also protects against ticks, sandflies and mosquitoes. Undetected ticks can cause paralysis and death, mosquitoes cause heartworm also fatal. If you would like to try this type of treatment, please see your vet and s/he will be happy to help you purchase the product at the correct application dosage as dog size is important. Sprays were good in their day, but research has provided us doggy people with products that are safer to use and are more dog-friendly. Hope I have been of some assistance.

Wash that stuff off! Unless it's specifically made for pets. Some of those sprays are very harmful to dogs.

Go to your vet and get a pill called Capstar. It kills all of the fleas on your aminal in a matter of minutes and works for 24 hours. It was my saving grace in our "war of fleas"!!!!

You need the stuff from the vet, MUCH stronger than the pet store stuff, one spray and like 80,00000 of them fall off the dog.

Please, get your dog in the shower or bath asap, and wash that stuff off.
Then, please, asap, get your dog to the vet, checked over, weighed, etc., and get some Advantage or Frontline from the vet-per directions told to you by the vet-how much/how often for your dog.
Take care.
