There are many legitimate questions that are answered with uncalled for flames and hatred....

Have any others witnessed this?

I couldn't agree more. There are so many good questions here that get answered with dogma and trite, rote answers, that don't BEGIN to address what the questioner really wants to know.

In all fairness, I have to point out that there are also a lot of questions posed by people who have an agenda to push, and those are just as destructive. This seems to be one of the few areas of Yahoo Answers where people think that giving an opinion is the same as giving facts; some of the folks in this section need to take a LONG look at themselves and figure out why they're pushing so hard. And if a person thinks that doesn't apply to him/her - then that person is probably EXACTLY who I'm talking about.

Yes, I agree. I loved the idea of it at the beginning when I started, but I am get turned off by the blatant insults and hatred.
Why is this necessary?

The purpose of Yahoo Answers for people who are honestly seeking answers, not for people to debate and put others down.

I don't know if there is anything that can be done to solve it.

God bless you.

I'm in full agreement with "Lucid Freedom". I just got sent a violation notice for no apparent reason yesterday. It may have been the result of someone reporting me, but I don't understand what I wrote that was so wrong. I'm getting tired of all the abuse. This is supposed to be a forum for Religion & Spirituality, not for hate-venting by those who have no faith!

Many find it hard to ask questions knowing over-passionate people will jeer or insult them. It would be more acceptable if everyone used there own mind - and not parrot others thoughts. That's the worse part - the robotic response to good questions.

yeah, it has really become very un-fun lately. I have stayed away from R&S except when one of my contacts asks a question. I recently posted some material sent by my 15 year-okd son, and some jerk from Ireland named Bellichek called my son a liar----I wanted to go to Ireland just to punch him in the nose. Not a very godly sentiment, I suppose...

Yes, I really do. But this is the 'marketplace' of ideas having to do with religion. Not surprisingly, the Atheists are trying to 'sell' their ideas according to what they believe.

So I am not here for myself. It is to help others. There are those who are honestly seeking to Lord. It is for those who are like I was, searching, knowing, but unable to put a finger on what draws them. They are unable to understand the light which makes them know that this is not all there is. There is something more. That 'more' is God, and God through the Holy Spirit, who does what God tells Him to do.

Feeling is not what made me Christian. It does not make me understand, and neither does it guide my life on matters like this. Feeling may be a part of understanding, but the knowledge of what's really going on is what really makes me a Christian, do the work I was sent to do, and keep at it, even though I might not feel like it.

I am growing very weary with this site and will be leaving very shortly. I unfortunately am not learning about others' religions and customs and speaking freely with other Chrisitans like I had figured I would. I am just playing defense and really, I have always hated sports :) Gods peace

Yes. But let that not deter the sane ones, looking for knowledge with an open mind and mutual respect.

I thought I was the only one who noticed.

That's why I don't really ask too many questions... this is not the place I look to when I want things taken seriously.

Yes, I have. I certainly have to agree with your assessment of the situation on Yahoo! Answers.
