yes you most commonly have to keep using it.. which will eventually get expensive.. but everyone's skin is different..

i recommend trying aspirin first before you pay the money for pro active..

take about four aspirin and dissolve them in a few drops of water.. add in a squirt of honey and make it into a paste.. you can also add in a few vitamin e capsules if ya like.. this can be used as a scrub, mask if left on for ten minutes, and a spot treatment left on over night.. it works like pro active.. i've used both and got the same result with each which is clear skin.. pro active dried my skin out too, but aspirin didn't.. it's a lot cheaper also..

oh.. and pro active contains benzoil peroxide.. whereas aspirin contains salacylic acid ..

another thing i do as an exfoliate is i scrub my face with an electric toothbrush.. it's sounds kinda weird but it works.. it really cleans out your pores and removes dead skin, oil and dirt.. you can use any scrub ya like or the aspirin i mentioned.. i like to use st. ives.. and i do it about three times a week..

only wash your face when you wake up in the morning, before you go to bed, and after exercise.. excess washing makes your face produce extra oil..

warm water opens pores and cold closes them.. so wash with warm and rinse with cold..

also you may want to get a good toner and moisturizer.. not astringent because it contains a ton of alcohol and is rough on your skin..

and watch the make up you use.. a mineral make up is much better for your skin.. it doesn't clog your pores or cause break outs.. i recommend bare minerals.. i've used it for three years and it's great.. a little goes a long way and it's very natural looking.. if you would like to check them out their website is:

drink lots of water.. eat healthy.. and take vitamin e, vitamin c, zinc and b vitamins..

i hope this helps..

Yes, that's true. But it's true for basically any regimine you start using, so why not stick with one that doesn't cost $30 a month? ProActiv didn't do a thing for me. It's not for everyone. I'm not the only person it hasn't worked for, different things work for different skin types. In just one week, my acne was completely gone by doing this regimine- it's very easy and doesn't cost even close to $30 a month.

Every morning, splash your face with hot water about 10 times to open up your pores. Then wash your face with Noxema Cream Cleanser. Then rinse your face with ice cold water. It will close the pores so bacteria can't enter them. Then do the same thing every night. Change your pillowcase EVERY OTHER DAY. Sleep on one side one night, and then sleep on the other side the next night. Then change it! You wouldn't BELIEVE how much that helps! If you keep the same pillowcase, your just burying your face in bacteria that builds up on your pillow from your hair and body! Sounds pretty gross, doesn't it? That's a major contribution to acne- bacteria getting into your pores. Also, drink GREEN TEA every single day! Even if it's diet. I drink Guers Green Tea. It blocks an enzyme that testosterone forms. Testosterone is a male hormone, but females have a small amount of it in them- testosterone also contributes to acne flare ups. Finally, drink plenty of water (8 glasses a day) and eat healthy. That always helps your body. Do this for a week, and you'll be amazed at the improvement! It works so much better than ProActiv, and for the most part it's natural. The cleanser is probably $4, and if your school has Green Tea, drink it every lunch! I hope I helped you!!

Some people will always have to use some product for acne (or well into adulthood anyway). Whoever started complaining that you'll be "hooked" on ProActive was probably like that, + disappointed to find if they quit using ProActive the acne comes back. Whatever works for you, you may have to use it a long time, just depending on your skin. Hope that answered your q.

It's hard to say everyone's skin is different I stopped using it and my skin is fine but I also didn't have too much of an acne problem my friend stopped using it and her face after a couple weeks went back to the way it was so it all depends on your skin
