i lived there for five years and absolutely love it.
to me, every corner in tasmania IS an attraction, but that's just me. lol just remember it is a very natural place - so forget about shopping or sophisticated modern architectural designs...

yeah Bear K has given you very good references.
port arthur is definitely worth going - and be prepared to spend the WHOLE day there ;-)

It has a big history of the prisoners that were sent out from Britain. It is rather beautiful natural place and time hasn't quite caught up with it . there is some remote areas and plenty of hills and scenery. some mining
